Fees

Greenwich Public School Music Program Music School

Greenwich Public School Music Program is an extra-curricular activity and as such is not funded by the school, but through band fees which cover the cost of the conductor, music, competition entry fees, buying new instruments etc. Music fees are due at the beginning of Term 1 and Term 3.  Payments not received by week 5 of the term will result in exclusion from band until the fees have been paid.


Strings and Band Programs $275 per semester ($550 per year)


Guitar Group Programs $250 per semester ($500 per year)


Private Tuition  $45 - $50 approx. per 30min weekly lesson

(To be organised independently with a qualified tutor).


Annual Music Camp $300 - $350 approx.

(Held in May annually over two days and one night).


Annual Workshop  Included in music fees


Competitions  Included in music fees


Music bag and Music Folder Included in music fees

Fees Terms & Conditions

Group/Ensemble fees cover the costs of employing conductors and tutors, maintaining equipment, purchasing new music scores, competition and performance entry fees and assisting with the purchase of new instruments.

The groups/ensembles are where the students learn to play music in an ensemble/band/orchestra setting. It is NOT a lesson where they are instructed how to play a particular instrument this is done in the private one to one lessons


In addition to ensemble rehearsals, all students in the Program must have a private music lesson each week with a specialist tutor. 


  • The groups/ensembles are an *annual fee. They are non-refundable. The only potential exception is for beginners only (in 1st year of learning that instrument). If the beginner withdraws from the programme before the end of term 2, the beginner will be entitled to a 50% refund on the group fees. Notification must be submitted through our termination form within 4 weeks of withdrawal to be eligible for this refund last day for withdrawal 30th June 2026.
  • 2026 fees will be invoiced from the 15th of January 2026 with a due date of the 15th of February 2026. For 2026 the invoices are split into two semesters (2 Terms each). If you are unable you make one upfront payment then please contact the administration to inform them that you will pay the second semester instalment by the 30th of June 2026. Please ensure to pay your fees on time as these fees go towards running the program and paying the conductors.
  • If the music programme can’t rehearse face to face due to COVID-19, we immediately move to zoom/online rehearsals and private lessons. The programme continues to run at full capacity, so the refund policy stays as above.
  • Private fees will be invoiced separately from your tutor.
  • Group/ensemble fees are payable  one group per child with a second group if they wish to join multiple groups being charged at 50% of the full fee  Groups charged by term are not included in this.
  • Students are expected to attend all group rehearsals and performances​.
