It is recommended that you hire an instrument in the initial stage of your child's learning.
There are a limited number of instruments available for hire through the school, at competitive prices, and these will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
You will be given more details on this later on this term, along with suggestions of other places to hire instruments from. Instruments hired from the school are serviced over the summer holidays and are then available to students at the beginning of the school year, but the family is responsible for the care and normal maintenance of the instrument (e.g. reeds, cork grease, pull through cleaners, valve oils etc.) during the period of hire.
Where a school hire instrument is lost or damaged through negligence, it is the family’s responsibility to replace or repair it, by a qualified technician selected by the school.
Where the instrument is damaged through normal wear and tear, it may be repaired at the music programs’ expense if the music manager or committee is notified immediately.
